THE STORY BEHIND DANA CARMONT

I left school at the age of 16 to follow my dream of becoming a designer. My experience came from working with some of the most prestigious swimwear labels in Australia, as their design assistant. My passion grew in to creating my own labels which lead in to a popular local boutique workout wear label called Bonehead sportswear and Who is Angie? Swimwear, which became a popular national and international published boutique bikini label and opened 2 fashion stores called Lemon Peel in the Southern Highlands.

With over 25 years’ experience in the bodybuilding, health & fitness Industry, my knowledge and experience came from competing nationally and internationally and winning titles in figure, fitness and bikini competitions as well as being a renowned body reshaping coach with leading high profile clients, TV, radio and magazines. This led me in to releasing my very own work out DVDs and cook book called DC Workout!

In 2011 I decided to concentrate on my bikini passion which was still in the fitness industry, but instead of me jumping up on stage I grew my bikini collection to the next level for stage, supplied comp shoes, stage jewellery, posing classes, workshops and started the very first Competition Beauty Lounge for tan, hair & make up in Australia.

As my passion grew to help other woman build their confidence to compete and love their bodies, I created Bikini Models Inc. TV on You Tube and the popular bikini competition called The Fit Bikini Model Extravaganza in Australia and Singapore, to educate woman about the growing sport.

In 2017 I moved to Malta, Europe to be close to my Maltese mum, who moved here 14 years ago. I found it hard to find a machinist with the machines needed to produce my garments and was importing & exporting my designs back and forth to Bali, to keep my small business afloat. In 2020 I purchased my own sewing machines (raised by crowd funding with the help of Female Entrepreneurs in Malta )

In 2022 I have expanded my collections in to Europe with my luxury 4 piece swim & active wear collections, off the rack stage bikinis, and my new collection of lycra swim & active uniforms for super yachts.

All my garments are made from high quality Italian fabrics. My EXCLUSIVE prints on fabrics are collaborations with some of the finest Female Entrepreneur artists on the Island & printed locally too. My accessories are purchased locally in Malta and from manufacturers in Czech Republic and France. I source the fabrics, create the design, make the patterns and my talented Maltese machinist Jacqueline, hand sews each garment and brings them to life! If diamante's are requested for stage bikinis, I delicately place each stone by hand for the perfect bling design for stage.

I style and shoot my own collections, as I have been in front and behind the camera for years and know exactly what I'm after.
